Influential Lahore Madrassa has Declared TikTok, Snack Video Apps as 'Haram'.

A senior religious scholar said on Monday that Jamia Ashrafia, an influential madrassa in Lahore, had issued a religious decree announcing the use of two social media applications, Tik Tok and Snack Video Haram. The order issued by the madrassa states that it is "haram" to make nonsensical and nonsensical videos on snack videos and tick ticks, and such videos and "nonsensical advertisements" are things that destroy faith.

Mufti Zakaria, a scholar at Jamia Ashrafia, told Samaa Digital that "our youth" are destroying themselves through such "obscene" mobile phone applications.

People need to educate their children to protect them from such things," he said.

"Our young people are not careful when using this kind of behavior and sometimes they can't tell the difference between good and bad," Zakaria said.

He added that this was the reason why the religious decree had declared the use of video-making requests "haram".

Pakistan has twice blocked tick tack on its "obscene and immoral" content.

The video sharing app was blocked in Pakistan in April 2021, three weeks after it was banned in the country on the orders of the Peshawar High Court.
